Summary/Abstract: Problem behavior occurs often in individuals with impaired development of verbal behavior.Behavioral technologies bring many effective procedures for systematic reduction of problem behavior and create new functional skills leading to the same results. The key roles in intervention play the age when the intervention is started, the overall time available, the integrity of procedures and the expertise. Availability of professional behavior-analytical services in the Czech and Slovak Republics is currently limited, and the number of people indicated for interventions has outnumbered the number of people who would help them. For successful intervention of problem behavior, it is possible to establish conditions allowing a satisfactory approach. In our case report we have focused on education of parents for intervention of problem behavior in three-year-old girl with autism spectrum disorder and developmental delay. Here we report development of the intervention and assess resources invested into this approach with a view to the current effectiveness of the intervention and the long-term sustainability of results.
