Summary/Abstract: The editorial work of PhD. Valentin Marin is a landscape on the ancient history of the Carpathian‑Danubian space and the implications of military, policies and strategies at the Lower Danube, in the centuries VI. B.C. – II A.D. The book brings a new perspective on the events leading to the area and remembering the sphere of influences and the powers of the antiquity: the Persian Empire, Macedonia and the Roman Empire. The paper published by the Publishing House, Mega, from Cluj‑Napoca is divided into four sections – Persian Strategy upon Lower Danube, expansion of Macedonia into Lower Danube, Lower Danube in the strategic concept of Burebista, Roman policy and strategy on Lower Danube, with a major critical apparatus, translation into English and a general and complex index. Elements of military history are complemented by political analysis and military strategy, using historical sources that provide concrete information on the period prior to the establishment of Dacian state, Burebista period and the one marked by Decebal.
