Zygmunt Haupt's Anniversary Broadcasts on „Voice of America” (1951-1960) an Outline of the Problems

Summary/Abstract: This article is devoted to the work of Zygmunt Haupt as an editor with the radio station “Voice of America.” In particular, it analyses the original scripts of the author's broadcasts that have been preserved in the writer's archive deposited at Stanford University. The article is divided into two parts. The first part describes the whole of Haupt's radio work, with particular emphasis on its propaganda character. In the second part, two representative broadcasts are submitted to detailed analysis. In these, the writer used the whole spectrum of various means of persuasion, but at the same time he took care of their artistic dimension.
