Summary/Abstract: Starting from the information provided by several historical sources (Ottoman, Bulgarian and Serbian chronicles), as well as the interpretation's formulated over time in some research (articles, written works, etc.)of historians, and not only, the author of the article tries to bring to the readers’attention the manner of approaching diplomacy and a military expedition of the Wallachian ruler, Mircea the Elder, beyond the Northern border of the ottoman empire, located on the southern shore of the Danube River.
