Summary/Abstract: The novel describes the story of a „make – believe.” But what was at first considered to be only a game, turns into something more serious. A few people close to a German tycoon make up their mind to re-build the village where this billionaire was born. In Lindenfeld all villagers were dead and the place was colmpletely abandoned. In order to surprise their boss, some businessmen decided to make this place look alive again. They hired many other people, like actors, painters or workers. After a time, the people involved in this act feel their life has changed in a better way. Fiction and reality merge, and the characters become aware they take part in a „superior game.”They re-create not only a village but life itself. To re-build or more than that, to bring about a whole world expresses the human endeavour to overcome our mortal condition.
