Polygamous marriage and the asylum law

Summary/Abstract: The article provides an interesting theoretical consideration of the position of polygamous marriage in the Czech legal system in general. Is it possible to grant asylum for the purpose of family reunification to several spouses at the same time? Rights relating to marriage are linked to personal status. Therefore, the question of the validity of marriage, as a private law relationship with a foreign element, is governed by Act No. 67/1963 Coll., On Private and Procedural International Law, unless there is a direct regulation in a valid international agreement. The asylum agenda is a matter of administrative law, which, however, must reflect international refugee law, EU asylum legislation, as well as other relevant international instruments.
