Summary/Abstract: The research is based on the longitudinal data of a typical linguistic situation of a Lithuanian family: both parents speak dialect, but both of them use Standard Lithuanian when talking to the child. The research is focused on the parental reactions to the child’s dialectal utterances, and the results prove that parents tend to correct and reformulate most of the child’s dialectal utterances. The child does not react to the corrections directly; however, in a later period dialectal forms are rarer in her speech. Starting with the age of 2;8 they are not observed any more.
