Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with dar daugiau used as a parenthesis, which has already had its tradition of use but has not been codified yet. Its origin is definitely in translation. However, the paper provides arguments for the parenthesis’ equal status among other Lithuanian parentheses. The paper identifies the purpose of use and meanings of dar daugiau used as a parenthesis. Still it is sometimes abused by becoming a universal means of expression and thus ousting other parentheses equally suitable in the same position. Sometimes dar daugiau is used for no particular reason.
