Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article was identification of courses in which accounting was taught at higher education establishments in interwar Poland. For some of the schools the names of persons teaching such coursers were identified. Accounting – as a subject of study – was included at the time in the curricula of all higher economic schools and also of some university faculties. Lectures in accounting also were given at the Main School of Agricultural Economy, Academy of Political Sciences in Warsaw, Free Polish University and Lvov Technical University. Considerable variations were found in the names of courses in which accounting was taugh. It can be assumed that certain elements of accounting were discussed during lectures on legal and fiscal matters. Lectures in accounting were run by outstanding academies and practitioners.
