Summary/Abstract: Within the 100-year-long history of Polish pedeutology, there are four major phases of its development: phase one – from the beginning of the century to the thirties phase two – from the thirties to the fifties of the 20 th century phase three – the sixties, seventies and eighties phase four – the turn of the centuries. The first three ones are thoroughly analyzed in the writings of outstanding pedeutologists of the past and the present (though without distinguishing the periods). The last period marks teachers’ new approach towards their job and duties. Contemporary concept of subjective existence and man’s subjectivity become a significant manifestation of the new phase in pedeutology development in Poland. Characteristic of the fourth phase are two complementary ways of being a contemporary human being – the way of the soul and heart, also highlighting the duty aspects of teachers’ work on the one hand, and the way of intellect, high professionalism and competence on the other. In his analysis, the author particularly focuses on technical schools’ teachers.
