Summary/Abstract: This article illustrates the complex personality of Nichifor Crainic, Professor at Vienna University and member of Romanian Academy. The author stood out as: theologian, journalist, writer, poet, politician, publisher and philosopher, being the first ideologist of the current “thinkingism”, aesthetics and ideological direction, that influenced the Romanian intellectuality in the interwar period. Nichifor Crainic`s Christianity was not stopped at the learned theological concepts from the Gospel and the patristic literature, but it was a displayed christianity in the customs and practices of the Romanian nationality, his unwavering unchanged authenticity was kept and saved in the Romanian villages. He remains the most well known defender of Orthodox beliefs that had watched upon the activity and the authority of the Church of the Romanian nationality for almost three decades.
