Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the UNESCO 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage and the basic documents related to it with a view of analyzing of the content of the notion of community within these documents. The author finds the lack of a stable definition of community and at the same time outlines its basic characteristics as they are present in the mentioned above documents.
