Summary/Abstract: The present paper describes the way in which our town, Comănești, has its own branch office of S.S.M.R. (Romanian Society of Mathematical Science). The activity of this branch office consists of: organization of the national contest “Hopes”, the elaboration of The Mathematics Review from Comănești, the stimulation both of teacher and pupils to participate in mathematics competitions. One of the main purposes is also to hold the Mathematics Camp in Dărmănești – Valea Uzului, during the summer holiday. Every activity of this branch office took place auspiciously under the supervision of professors, such as Dan Brânzei (University „Al. I. Cuza“ Iași), Cornel Berceanu (University „Vasile Alecsandri“ from Bacău). The members of the branch office from Comănești meet regularly in order elaborate new and original proposals for developing the activity and increase the number of participants. The main objective is to encourage the creativity in mathematics, especially of the young members who love this area
