Aurel Lup: 40 years of socialist agriculture in Dobrogea

Summary/Abstract: The subject of this book is the history of agriculture in Romanian province Dobroudgea (Constantza and Tulcea counties) in the south‑eastern part of the country during communist regime, 1949–1989 years. The 1949 year was the first when begun the collectivization of agriculture in Romania, process which was finished in 1962 year. But in Dobroudgea province the agriculture collectivization had finished in 1957 five years earlier than in whole country. For that where used a lot of reprisals, the peasants were forced to sign the matriculation petition in the collective farms without their consent. A lot of them were punished, beaded imprisoned. In the agriculture was had obtained some successes but not in the living standard. In the last years of the communist regime the results in the agriculture become more and more bad and the peasant’s incomes too. After collapse of the communist regime in the last days of the 1989 year, in 1991 year the collective farms were abolished and the peasants become again landowners.
