Summary/Abstract: Given the contemporary technological development, student demands and requirements and budgetary pressure higher education leaders have to find ways to adapt their institutions to these realities and make a cultural educational shift, to include here promoting different approaches to teaching and learning, exploring the predictive value of data, and acquiring technological solutions. This article uses digital storm model to explore some digital transformation trends for education, including augmented reality, gamification, personalized learning and redesigned learning spaces which are revolutionizing higher education and lead to a cultural shift in this domain.
