ASSESSMENT OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE EUROPEAN ARREST WARRANTY IN THE MEMBER STATES OF THE EUROPEAN UNION

Summary/Abstract: Implementing the European arrest warrant in the area of liberty, security and justice, highlights, on the one hand, the member states’ willingness to work furher on the activity of cooperation in criminal matters, and on the other hand, a permanent reluctance of the member states, which is sometimes ambiguous, to stop the evolution towards a further step in the construction of the European criminal area . European arrest warrant is a success, the total volume of exchanged requests between member states is recording a strong growth. As a result, the European arrest warrant not only that almost replaced the procedure of extradition within the EU, but its’ use is much more spreaded recently,thanks to its merits.
