Summary/Abstract: This article reexamines the connection between the Slavic ornithonyms for ‘nightingale’ (Luscinia sp., esp. L. megarhynchos)’, *solṷьcь, *solṷьь, and so on, and Hittite šaluwai-, šaluwaja-, šalwini-, which Blazek (1998) already briefl y drew attention to.
