The poem, Chassidim tanzen [Hasids dance] is presented in the context of translation (the original and Ryszard Krynicki’s Polish translation, Chasydzi tańczą), biography (the poet’s life during the war, her dramatic escape to Sweden), as a work about the Shoah and a particular variety of Jewish culture (Hasidim and the quasi-religious meaning of dance) at a time of genocide.
