Summary/Abstract: The subject of a study is the documents (protocols, reports, statutes) of women’s educational associations, which were established in the late 19th century in Prussian and Austrian Partitions. Linguistic behavior preserved in the texts reflect adherence to fundamental and ethos values related to the functioning of the national tradition of values in the Polish society (patriotism, freedom, religion) and the values resulting from the philosophy of the era (work for the public good). They also reveal the functioning of environmental customs, forms of behavior accepted and approved within small communication communities (eg. feminine solidarity, professional solidarity). The first of these is primarily a testimony of belonging to a community, the second – an important way to build it.
