Summary/Abstract: Apostolic nuncios in Poland was interested in Moldavia, the potential aliant of Poland against Turks. Moldavia was the important source of information on the subject of events in Ottoman Porte and on the subject of Cossack’s and Tartar’s politics in the time of the Cossack's rise, which exploded in 1648 . Nuncios observed the Moldavian’s hospodar, Vasile Lupu, when he swerved among Poland and Cossacks. Nuncios were also interested in Tatar-Cossack's invasion on Moldavia in 1650 and marriage of hospodar's daughter with Cossack's hetman's, Bohdan Chmielnicki, son. This marriage destroyed Polish influences in Moldavia. Fall of hospodar Vasile in 1653 and the war of Transilvania and Valachia against Cossacks, they made possible the reconstruction of the Polish position in Moldavia. The exact nuncios reports, which we possess, are the good source to the meeting of these events, and especially of personal connexion between king John II Casimir and Vasile Lupu.
