Summary/Abstract: Urbanization brings many socio-economic and cultural advantages in a society but it also causes some disadvantages. One of the most important disadvantages of these is undoubtedly problems encountered in the field of health. These problems in the field of health mainly arises from negative effects of urbanization such as low living standards, crime, environmental pollution, slum, traffic problems, alienation, uncertainty, stress and anxiety from unemployment, poverty and overpopulation. The increase in health problems also leads to higher health expenditures. The aim of this study is to analyze the impact of urbanization on health spending by ARDL Bounds Testing Approach using data from the 1975-2018 period in Turkey as well as discussing the results in policy recommendations perspective. In the analysis, it was concluded that urbanization experienced in Turkey increases health spending. Under this result, it is necessary to reconsider the policies of urbanization in Turkey and reduce and eliminate the negative effects of urbanization on health problems For this purpose, a harmony with the environment and planned and regular urbanization policy should be adopted and implemented consistently.
