Summary/Abstract: This study examines the theory of deliberative democracy, outlining the main legal provisions in the current legislation of the Republic of Bulgaria linked to regulating the forms of civic participation in the political process. Over the past couple of years topics regarding this type of democracy have gained significance in the light of the changing constitutional reality and the increasing role of civil society in the decision-making. Considering certain theoretical and practical issues about the forms of deliberative democracy, it further analyzes its current state within the framework of the constitutional model of government in Bulgaria.
