Summary/Abstract: The theme about European Union law and its place in the Bulgarian legal system has been an occasion for dissonance in science and practice since the accession period of our country until today, often causing ambiguities in its application. This report examines the implementation of EU law in the Bulgarian legal system and its interaction with the domestic law, analysing the legislative amendments that the Bulgarian legislature undertakes in order to provide a legal environment for the direct effect of Union law. The relevant interpretative conclusions, which the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Bulgaria makes on these issues, will be presented as well. Thus, the study aims to outline the place of EU law in the Bulgarian legal system and to reveal its significant role in the life of society and state.
