Summary/Abstract: Patients with ischemic brain injury may be affected by damageof brain centers responsible for speech, which is thecause of aphasia. Because the disintegration of linguisticand communication skills makes it difficult or even impossibleto communicate with the environment effectively, everypatient with aphasia requires speech therapy. In diagnosingaphasia, a qualitative approach is desirable. Presentedcase proves that the main goal of reeducation of a patientwho has lost the ability to communicate with the environmentis first to restore this contact in the simplest form, andthen gradually rebuild various types of competences andimprove implementation, using adequate methods, techniquesand tools. All activities, taking into account the possibilitiesand limitations of the patient and adapted to thedynamics of her speech disorder, were aimed at improvingthe quality of patient’s life and becoming more independent,so that she could successfully participate in social life.
