The Role Playing in Religious Education

Summary/Abstract: The author is a school teacher involved in religious education, she teaches religion. In her experience role playing can help the pupils to understand the biblical stories, as well as their identification with the biblical persons, and thus learning from their reactions and attitudes, imitating the values they represent. The effect of role playing does not only help learning different social skills, but also have a good influence on the whole personality of the pupils. Role playing as such and through its instruments help systemizing the subjects and the amount of knowledge learnt during the class(es). It also helps the pupils involved to become a more enriched personality and to acquire a more realistic view of themselves. The author accentuates the role of the group in the whole process. Then some ways and methods are presented which can be used in role playing at a religion class.
