Summary/Abstract: The base for this study is Angela Duckworth's concept of grit (perseverance and passion for long-term goals). The purpose of the study is to highlight the level of perseverance and passions of the pupils in the primary school (N=98) according to gender and environment (urban and rural area). The working tools used is the Inventory of grit elaborated by Angela Duckworth and her collaborators in 2016 who contains twelve items, grouped into two subscales: perseverance and passion. According to the results obtained in comparative tests on independent samples, significant statistical differences have been stated at the perseverance subscale by gender, with higher mean at girls. Also, the perseverance levels are higher for the students in urban areas, but the students in rural areas pay more attention to their passions.
