T he role of Pole Mokotowskie in creation of the climate of Warsaw

Summary/Abstract: In the paper the Authors discuss the role of Pole Mokotowskie park in creation of local thermal-and-hygric conditions as well as in air exchange in south-western and central parts of Warsaw. The considerations based on the results of research carried out for several years by Polish Academy of Sciences, University of Warsaw and Institute of Meteorology and Water Management on the territory of Warsaw. There was concluded that the second of listed roles is especially important for the whole city area and Pole Mokotowskie should be protected against any changes in its environmental conditions.
