Summary/Abstract: Archaeological research carried out at the Floci Town in the 1978 and 1980 campaigns has brought to light the traces of a remarkable dwelling, dating from the end of the 16th century. From this place were recovered several tiles that made up the heating system of the house. The iconographic program of the stove tiles corresponds to the historical moment when the army of the voivode Michael the Brave (1593-1600), a member of the Christian League, confronts the ottoman army. The crown tiles are in the shape of a lily flower, a decoration inspired, I think, from the ornaments of the church of Argeş Monastery (1517). The panel tiles that make up the heating chamber of the stove are decorated with three types of compositions, as follows: 1. an equestrian soldier, towards the left, holding a lance with a flag, 2. an equestrian soldier, toward the right, holding a rectangular flag: he announces victory and brings the tree of Christian life, and 3. the lion guarding the tree of Christian life. The compartment of the stove for the combustion chamber was decorated with tiles with a concave circular means. These stove tiles are real historical documents, as they are representing the horsemen costumes, the weapons and the war flags from the army reorganization period during the reign of Michael the Brave (1593 – 1601). A particularly important aspect that marked the life of the Floci Town between the XVth – XVIIIth centuries was that of resistance by faith.
