Summary/Abstract: The article proposes a change of optics in investigation of the harmonica – very widespread once polyphonic musical instrument, but a little researched in organology, motivated by the need to extend the knowledge of describing and presenting the real sound capacities of the instrument, argued by samples of the interpretative practice in the light of the new achievements of scientific research and recent information on the history of the instrument. This incursion into the ergology of harmonica and the morphology of traditional music compels us to initiate the study of elements of musical language: melodic-rhythmic structures, own styles in solo interpretations and accompaniment, essential components in organophonic practice, instrumental virtuosity, spreading area etc. These are some of the dominants of the analytical side, which will be approach in this article.
