The dog in the big city... or geographical research on animals

Summary/Abstract: Animals have been in the sphere of the interest of geographers for centuries, but the way of thinking about the animal has changed. The aim of the study is to present changes in the approach to the “human-animal” relationship in geographical research at various times. Three waves in the development of animal geography and the place of animal geography in animal studies were discussed.
