Summary/Abstract: Throughout the history, the Caucasus region has always been a great area of struggle among both global and regional powers. In the region, global powers such as the United States, EU countries, China, and Russia, and the regional powers such as Turkey, Iran and India sometimes confronted with each other and sometimes acted as allies. The historical struggle of the area still continues. Only during the Cold War period, the contact of the countries in the region with the global and regional countries was limited by the Soviet pressure. However, after the Cold War, when the Caucasus countries, particularly the ones in the south, gained their independence, those countries searched of new ways to establish relations with the world. During this period, it is seen that Armenia among the southern Caucasus countries, particularly sought to establish good relations with the western and non-western global powers. At this point, China, which is known for its efforts to stand by Russia against the West, especially during the Soviet period, has gained prominence with its investments in the region and its place in international organizations related to the region. This article aims to examine China’s increased interest towards the region by evaluating its policies of Armenia.
