Summary/Abstract: According to archaeological findings, cannibalism is one of the ancient and deep-rooted diets. Cannibalism which classified according to the way of perform based on obligatory diet, ritual and treatment, It’s put forward with scientific data that cannibalism of people in their own society or others. Çatak, which is located in the southwest of Van and 81 km away from city center. Bahçıvan Village, with its old name Mirovharan, is 5 km away from Çatak county and separated from other villages with Çataksuyu stream. In the village, without an exact date, existence of a cannibal society is narrated and legends are told about them. On the other hand there are stone buildings which is thought to be owned by cannibals. This study aims to handle the history of cannibalism and determination of cannibalism in detail and legends about Mirovxharan complied from the region. Thus history will be compared with legends.
