Summary/Abstract: The article reflects on the Zoroastrian New Near’s rituals in the context of research on collective identity of the community in Iran. Research materials obtained as a result of fieldwork and the supplemental written data has been analyzed. The article introduces the reader to the issues related to the Zoroastrian calendar and New Year’s rituals, and then shows the multidimensionality of Nouruz. According to the analysis it is one of the main features distinguishing Zoroastrian as a separate ethnoreligious group from other Iranian citizens, as well as an element of culture that may connect these communities in contrast to non-Iranians perceived as others.
