Summary/Abstract: As the social media platforms became suitable environments for conspicuous consumption, the show was gathered around three basic features; photography, video and location notification. Therefore, in this study it was aimed to examine the food-themed photos shared on social media with the conspicuous consumption dimension. In order to realize this purpose, the data were collected and analyzed by using the scales developed before. Percentage, frequency, arithmetic mean, t-test and one-way analysis of variance were conducted within the scope of the research. The results of the research showed that the vast majority of the participants did not use social media for the purpose of conspicuous consumption through food-themed posts. However, it has been determined that men exhibit their conspicuous consumption more on social media than women and the participants with income over 1000 Turkish Liras use social media for conspicuous consumption tool. In addition, Instagram has been found to be the most preferred platform use for conspicuous consumption, which allows sharing of content such as photos, videos, and location notifications.
