Safety security of biomass supply chain management

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to present the possibilities of using biomass for energy purposes and analysis of safe management of logistics processes in the biomass supply chain. Factors that should be taken into account in the safe management of the biomass supply chain include: biomass diversity (volume, humidity, diffuse nature), distances from sources of raw materials, location of energy production sites. In order to avoid moving large biomass masses over long distances, it is reasonable to create local biomass markets and logistic systems that minimize the costs of biomass acquisition, transport and storage. A lot of hope can be associated with certified biomass quality assurance systems. This will have a significant impact on the security of supply of raw materials so diverse in its properties.
