„Wielka wyprawa Molly” (2016), jako (niewykorzystana) lekcja wychowania w demokracji i do demokracji oraz otwartości i tolerancji
„Molly Monster” (2016), as a (wasted) lesson of democratic education and upbringing for democracy, openness and tolerance

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to show that the film „Molly Monster” can be is an example of preparing the preschool audience for openness and respect for difference, tolerance, dialogue and listening, cooperation, joint decision making and wise acceptance of change. The content of the film and characters appearing in it, especially the main character – Molly Monster, have been analysed from the perspective of the attitude of everyday democracy and the model of democrat presented by Maria Ossowska. The analysis shows that the film, which presents how Molly, impatiently and joyfully awaits a big change in the life of her family – the birth of a sister or a brother, and emphasizes the importance of family ties, can therefore inspire to accept changes and adapt to new situations. In addition, the film presents a land where every inhabitant is very different – in size or physical appearance, and the story teaches that being diff erent does not disturb cooperation, mutual help or making joint decisions and taking actions. The film presents an open approach to traditional social roles, emphasizes the role of self-confidence, but also the importance of admitting one’s mistake and freedom in decisionmaking. Such an interpretation allows to recognise the fi lm „Molly Monster” as a lesson of education in and to democracy and openness and tolerance, which is worth to be used. „Wielka wyprawa Molly” jest idealnym przykładem przygotowania przedszkolnej widowni do otwartości i szacunku dla odmienności, tolerancji, dialogu i słuchania, współpracy, wspólnego podejmowania decyzji oraz mądrej akceptacji zmian. Film, który pokazuje, jak główna bohaterka filmu, Molly Potworowska, niecierpliwie i z radością oczekuje dużej zmiany w życiu swojej rodziny – narodzin siostrzyczki lub braciszka, a także podkreśla znaczenie więzi rodzinnych, może zatem inspirować do przyjmowania zmian i adaptowania się do nowych sytuacji. Ponadto w filmie zaprezentowano krainę, w której każdy mieszkaniec jest inny – bardzo różnią się wielkością czy wyglądem fizycznym, a opowiedziana w nim historia uczy, że inność nie przeszkadza we współpracy, wzajemnym pomaganiu sobie czy podejmowaniu wspólnych decyzji i działań. „Wielka wyprawa Molly” prezentuje nadto otwarte podejście do tradycyjnych ról społecznych, podkreśla rolę wiary we własne możliwości, ale także znaczenie przyznania się do popełnionego błędu oraz wolności w podejmowaniu decyzji.
