Summary/Abstract: Migration takes many forms. In its broader meaning of a movement from one thing to another, our means of communicating, eating, thinking, associating and doing business, amongst others, have migrated. All of these affect our identity. This article considers the impact of the migration of governmental services to private firms, and the ways in which outsourcing public functions to private for-profit firms has affected our perceptions and identity.
