Communication in the situation of treatment – medical staff and patient – suicidological approach

Summary/Abstract: The article is the conclusion of studies regarding communication in the situation of treatment, hospitalization and recovery of people. Undoubtedly, the disease isassociated with many elements which can lead to negative effects, both health andthose related to the human psyche. Special attention should be paid to the treatmentaspect in hospitals or psychiatric clinics. Unfortunately, in the long-term perspective,mental illness is a taboo subject for the society of the 21st century. Researchers oftenfocus more on the situation of treatment, the use of appropriate methods and thepharmacological means than on the communication in a given place. This articlewill present reports from our own research carried out from 2016 to the present inthe framework of the activity of the Polish Suicidology Society – Lublin Branch. Thepeople with mental disorders who reported to the Society for psychological consultations are the subject of this research. The research group consists of men and women(n = 100), mainly from the Lublin and Malopolska provinces..
