Summary/Abstract: Man is the most important value – this is the basic assumption of the concept of integrateddevelopment used to elucidate the question of the development of man and society. It is consistentwith the humanistic dimension of man presented by the personality of John Paul II in Catholicsocial teaching, whose perspective was chosen among many others as the most appropriate way toexplain human development issue as it captures the multifaceted issues of human development andsociety and interdependencies that exist between them. At macro level of social life it relates tosociety, but also can be used especially at the microeconomic level to clarify the nature of thedevelopment of modern man, the improvement of his condition, especially welfare. In this context, the paper discusses the essential issues of development aspects not only in thesocio-economic, but also anthropological and philosophical context. The reflections includethreats, challenges and hopes of modern man and society as well as the problems of the commongood and the role of labor and the state in the integration of developmental processes.Taking into account that nowadays growing demand for quality can be observed then humandesire for possession must be limited by the desire of "being and growing". The result of truehuman development is an access to the "real favors" and not mere accumulation of goods andservices. It should be emphasized also that the primacy of morality in relation to all areas of sociallife in the country leads to protection against all forms of alienation and give the proper sense ofmaterial progress.
