Economic Aspects of Sustainable Development in Polish Voivodeships – Multivariate Data Analysis

Summary/Abstract: Sustainable development is basic and superior aim of European Union. It assumes growing standard and quality of life by achieving compromise in respect to economic, social and environmental development. In this paper an evaluation of sustainable development in Polish voivodeships with reference to economic order in 2005 and 2009 was performed. The voivodeships were described by a set of indicators grouped into five areas such as economy, innovativeness, households, labour market and impact upon the environment. The voivodeships situation, territorial cohesion and direction of changes were investigated. Selected description statistics and linear ordering with pattern formula were applied.
