Summary/Abstract: The study comprises reflections regarding the academics’ obligation to yearly attend a minimum number of conferences and write scientific pieces on them. The author analyzes this obligation from the point of view of the quality of the studies drafted by the academics, forced, under the empire of the pressure to abide by preset rules, to register for conferences and draft, sometimes hastily, the requested communications. The study reviews the factors that can contribute to the fact that the studies presented under the aforementioned conditions may not raise to expectations in terms of quality. The author further proposes some measures meant to contribute to solve the situation observed, by prioritizing scientific quality studies, in parallel with the academics’ obligation to dedicate a certain amount of time and focus to the scientific research.
