Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to establish a closed list of names of music professions in Polish,English, German and Japanese. The comparison of comparable texts and the empirical observation as research methods have been applied. The research corpora include Polish Journal of Laws concerning the names of professions and other related documents in the above mentioned languages e.g. ISCO-08 regulation. The analysed material has shown that names of music professions are not does not show the particular character of a work of an individual when being employed for example in an orchestra. The author chose the topic to broaden and regulate the narrower meaning of a said profession. As a result of the analysis, provided equivalents show that in general language the names of music professions exist. In case of not finding proper equivalents in other languages the techniques of providing equivalents for non- or partially equivalent terms were provided.
