Summary/Abstract: The article evokes some interwar aspects, specifically the way in which politicians related to the press. An outstanding publicist, minister Argetoianu composed a chronicle of his time extracted from Romanian and foreign press. Argetoianu knew how to decipher political intentions by reading newspapers. He used to love and hate the press, but he couldn’t live without it. Our interwar political class produced three remarkable writers: I. G. Duca, Constantin Argetoianu and Grigore Gafencu, Argetoianu being the most notorious in this respect. It happens very rarely for a theologian to be a journalist. But it was the case of the greatest contemporary Romanian theologian, Father Dumitru Stăniloae. The case of Minister Grigorie Gafencu, himself a pressman, is also mentioned.
