Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the results on the investigating phenological changes using satellite-based vegetation indices in broad-leaved forests over Poland. This study used Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) time-series derived from SPOT Vegetation and Proba-V images from 1999 to 2014. The onset of the growing season, end of the season, maximum NDVI observed during the growing season were determined using TIMESAT program. Results of the study shows that satellite data can be used in a variety of ways in research of phenology of broad-leaved forests in Poland. More studies on forest phenology metrics and its relations to meteorological observations in Poland will help to understand the responses of temperate forest phenology to climate changes.
