Summary/Abstract: This work discusses the constitutional position of the executive authority in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the introductory section of this work is analyzed parliamentary and semi-presidential system, as power-sharing systems in which executive authority is bicephalous and is consisted of Head of State and the Government.The executive power in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is entrusted to the President of the Federation, to whom in performing constitutional powers theconsent of both Vice Presidents and the Government of the Federation is needed. The constitutional position of the executive power in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is defined by the way of electing of the President of the Federation and the Government, degree of their responsibility and within the scope of the constitutional powers granted. Previously, normative solutions enshrined in the Constitution of the Federation and other general acts related to the position of the President of the Federation and the Government in the system of power are analyzed. In the concluding observations is concluded that the President of the Federation is the passive organ of the executive power, to whom granted constitutional powers primarily enable acting as neutral arbitrator, while the Government represents the active part of the executive power, to which effective executive powers are granted, which it uses to manage everyday political processes in this entity.
