Summary/Abstract: The article is an attempt to determine the impact of the SARS-CoV-2 virus on the food sector. Against the background of global economic processes (global markets, stock exchanges), the course of phenomena taking place on the agricultural commodities and food market is analysed. The basic scope of the analysis refers to the Polish food sector, its condition, and the current behaviour of business entities. The globalization of economic processes makes it necessary to take into account international implications in the analysis of each national sector. Especially, when the subject of the analysis is the Polish food sector, which is widely connected with the global market. Both the supply side of the sector (behaviour of entities and agricultural markets, price dynamics) and the demand side, i.e. consumer behaviour, were analysed.
