Position of mining offices regarding rational management of sand and gravel in Poland

Summary/Abstract: The goal of this paper is to present statutory powers and practical aspects of functioning of mining offices regarding rational management of sand and gravel in Poland. In the introductory section, basic information regarding deposits of sand and gravel, their mining and protection system will be presented. Following that, author focuses on legal basis of mining supervision and competencies of mining authorities. At the end, a subject functioning of mining offices will be raised, alongside with de lege ferenda aspects of the topic.
