Summary/Abstract: The impact of the new Coronavirus on Europe's future has the potential to be even more significant than the 2015 refugee crisis, especially as it unfolds almost biblically, at the height of a plague of other European diseases. The coronavirus has hit the European Union with the biggest test of its political, economic and social structure since the refugee crisis. Limiting pathogens is a very different matter, from managing refugee waves. The big challenge is how dramatically it will shape the European Union's response to the institution's relevance, responsiveness and efficiency at a crucial historical moment. The impact of the pandemic with the new Coronavirus on the future of Europe has the potential to be even more significant than the migrant crisis, especially as it is taking place at the top of an issue that reveals other European decision-making shortcomings.
