Summary/Abstract: The evolutions of the last decades indicate substantial progress within the framework of European defence and security cooperation, under the institutional framework of Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP). These evolutions, especially in the last years, encompass aspects related to operational and capabilities development. Thus, a more enhanced European model is being defined, one that was formally enshrined in the Treaty on European Union (TEU) and further consolidated by the Global Security Strategy. The main feature is the integrated perspective on the way in which the EU’s policies and instruments could engage in the crisis management field.
