Summary/Abstract: The world of work is experiencing eminently rapid and principle changes influenced by a technological revolution that includes the development of human relationship with vocational environment. This development is the fundamental reason for the reform of vocational training. Vocational training has to satisfy the needs of a human and the world of work. Particularly significant in this context becomes the status of primary vocational training institutions, i.e. the status of vocational training schools in the society. The authors of this article aim at defining the concept of vocational training school status and identifying the factors that determine the status of a vocational training school in a society. The article presents the results of the research that have been employed for the definition of the function of vocational training school and the tendencies of the value of these functions in society.
